He is known for his plays, essays, and novels. Oscar Wilde was one of the most popular writers and socialites of his time. He is best known for his novel, “The Picture of Dorian Gray”, “Lady Windermere’s Fan” and his play, “The Importance of Being Earnest.” 

Wilde married Constance Lloyd in 1884 and the couple had two sons. However, their marriage was tumultuous and ended in a public divorce trial in 1895.
